Rabbit Fest
Copperas Cove, Texas
By: Sierra Petty
Each year on the third weekend in May in Copperas Cove, Texas thousands of people attend the Rabbit Fest.
Copperas Cove is a quiet town with great restaurants, a shopping center, small business shops, and beautiful parks. Nancy Hazard, an i35 Group realtor, enjoys the Youth Sports Programs, parades and city events Copperas Cove offers.
According to locals, the festival used to show rabbits, but no longer does. There have been attempts to change the name since there are no longer rabbits showcased, but the name has remained the same. Instead of rabbits, you will find powdered sugar treats, carnival games, rides, craft vendors, and food trucks galore. You can be sure to experience live music from local artists at this fun annual festival. Also, on Saturday morning, you can watch a beautiful creative parade go by.
The rides were my favorite part of the festival as a kid, but as an adult, I enjoy looking at the local art booths and riding the Ferris wheel with my little ones. This event is one of the best things Copperas Cove has to offer. Amongst the Rabbit Fest, there are also beautiful affordable starter homes in Copperas Cove. Come check out this great town and see all it has to offer.
